After last week's controversial Vanity fair cover -cum-homage to Manet's Dejeuner sur L'herbe (Averted Gaze) we guess that Tom Ford is presently looking for a nice, quiet space where he can cool-out and open up his shirt to display that ubiquitous thatch of manly chest hair. (Exaggerated cough suggesting feigned detachment) Let's hope said location is sufficiently far away from Rachel McAdams, who brilliantly refused his request to play Tom's dejeuner. According to Jim Shi of Fashionweekdaily:

"Tom Ford has selected 845 Madison Avenue as the location for his first freestanding retail store, tentatively scheduled to open November 1.

"The currently vacant spacelocated on the Southeast corner of Madison Ave. and 70th Streetformerly housed the Gianfranco Ferr boutique before the brand moved into its flagship store (870 Madison Ave.) in March 2004.

"Fords new location boasts 3,500 square feet of retail space and an additional 650 square feet of basement space that will most likely serve as storage. Sharing a faade with Yves Saint Laurent and Sonia Rykiel, adjacent to Prada, and cattycorner to Gucci, Chlo, and Cartier, Fords new outpost affords him great exposure to the caliber of customer his brand is likely seeking. He is expected to stock his line of accessorieswhich will grow from sunglasses to footwear and bagsas well as his upcoming menswear line."
