Spielberg Wanted GE ...

(image via anusha)

In this weeks' installment of "Sunday Morning Shootout" Steven Spielberg -- the big cahoona himself -- came on the show to a cascade of metaphorical reach arounds and sloppy kisses. Even Uberguber seemed flummoxed. Saying of his deal to sell Dreamworks SKG, "I was waiting at the altar for GE, and it never happened .. and Paramount gave us everything we ever wanted and more."

Hmm. As gay corporate nups go, though, Sumner Redstone is probably a "good provider."

Spielberg prefaced this semi-diss by saying that he had discussed all this out with Freston and Redstone, and -- being Spielberg -- we doubt that there will be any "you'll never eat lunch in this town again" recriminations. Spielberg's Old School like that.
