Farewell to Fashion Week

And we hardly even knew you (The Corsair blows Wintourish airkisses). Cats were the accessory of choice this year. But one of Kelly Cutrone's favorite Fashion Week moments for Fashionweekdaily included, "Emily Bungert kicking the 'cat freaks'—people who come with sunglasses and a bodyguard and bring their cats—out of the Sass & Bide party at Gold Bar." Guess she was a dog person?

And, The Corsair's fave, "Britney Spears being outside the Tents in a car at Heatherette and refusing to come inside."

Faran Krentcil also has something to say on the "cat freaks," "At the Rock & Republic party on Saturday night, I crashed into Trovata's lone ranger, John Whitledge. I asked about his fall line.

"'It's a lot more controlled,' he said proudly. 'There's less filler clothes; the focus is there.' We exchanged cell numbers so I could come to his showroom before he went back to Cali. I drunk texted him at 3 am and told him I'd better see the clothes and laughed at how Fashion Week reduced me - instead of calling boys with booty calls, I was calling to see actual boots, and dresses, and jeans, and whatever. Sad.

"The next day I crammed into the packed presentation for Jovovich Hawk. I had the pleasure - seriously, she's awesome - of gabbing with Style.com reporter Jess Ramakrishnan. Lou Doillon and Carine sailed by, but we were most interested in a stuffed looking couple. The boy looked like Ryan Adams playing Clark Kent and the girl had a weird Empress- Anastasia-goes-to-Sarah-Lawrence vibe. They carried a giant persian cat.

"'What is that?' shrieked Jessica, and I shrugged. 'Rock stars?' That was my guess, and I felt slightly annoyed I couldn't place them. No one else could either - before long, WWD and Gawker were buzzing about 'The Petrescus,' a pair of royal Romanians who were apparently fabricated."

And, from the aforementioned Jessica Ramakrishnan, "'Zac's shows are always like a family reunion,' said Paz de la Huerta as she pointed out Zac Posen's high school buddies in the audience at the designer's show Thursday evening. Of course, the crowd also included some newer friends like P. Diddy, Rachel Bilson, and Nicole Richie. Britney Spears, however, was not among them. Rumor had it that Posen refused her a ticket when the pop princess' rep called for one."

Zing! Britney's so over; not even a Timberlake duet at the Grammy's could resurrect her career from jaws of the jumping shark. And, from lookonline:

"t was the usual packed house on Thursday night as Zac Posen presented his Fall/Winter 2007 collection in the tent at Bryant Park. Photographers overflowed the runway as they rushed to catch a glimpse of celebrity guests including Russell Simmons, Sean Combs, Rachel Bilson, and Giada DeLaurentis. Each seat contained a chic black bag filled with Mac cosmetics and L'Oreal hair products."

Because rich people need. Free. Things.
