On The Edwards Campaign

In any other year, with fewer top-tier heavyweight candidates, without a war, John Edwards would probably be the front-runner. He has run what can only be properly construed as a flawless campaign and, it is said, is presently leading in the Iowa and Nevada caucuses. His family drama has become a topic of the American public's conversation. It is, to be sure, to early to call the Democratic field, but with the twilight struggle of Billary-versus-Obama -- joined presently by Oprah -- and Gore, in the tall grass, stalking the two, waiting for one to wound the other mortally, it is hard to see Edwards as pulling this off.
