Glamour's Women Of The Year Awards

What do renowned primatologist Jane Goodall and the heirheaded Tinsley Mortimer have in common? They celebrated the Glamour Women of the Year Awards last night in NYC. Cindy Leive, the magazine's editor (and full disclosure: a fellow Kenneth Cole AWEARNESS blogger), always infuses these things with an international flavor. From Style:

"'To borrow a phrase from Barack Obama, Yes, she can!' said Glamour's editor-in-chief Cindi Leive, kicking off her magazine's 2008 Women of the Year Awards last night in New York. Politics were predictably in the air with several honorees still celebrating Obama's victory, and a bipartisan pair of barrier breakers, Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice, accepting awards alongside the likes of Nicole Kidman, Kara Walker, Tyra Banks, and Maureen Chiquet.

"... The presenters weren't too shabby, either: Barbara Walters introduced Rice, Natalie Portman introduced a group of Nobel Peace Prize winners, and Michael Bloomberg did the honors for Banks. 'I once told Tyra that she should go into politics,' he said. 'Tyra's response was, I think I have one too many swimsuit pictures out there."
