Winona Ryder Accidentally ODs On Tranquilizers

Fragile actress Winona Ryder, who has had some legal problems in the past, was hospitalized in Europe. There has been a nimbus of psychiatric issues following Ryder throughout her young life -- depression, insomnia and panic attacks. She was also, ironically, the Goddaughter of now-deceased LSD guru Timothy Leary. Once again the psychiatric karma rears it's head in Winona's life. From the Telegraph:

"The actress Winona Ryder was taken to hospital in Britain after collapsing on a flight to London following a suspected accidental overdose of tranquillisers.

"The star collapsed twice in first class on the 10-hour British Airways flight 282 from Los Angeles to London Heathrow.

"It is thought the 37-year-old mistakenly took too many Xanax pills – used to treat anxiety – to combat her fear of flying.

"The actress, whose film successes include Dracula, was taken to Hillingdon Hospital where she was admitted under a false name and discharged after one hour.

"The actress has since flown to another European city.

"The captain of the flight reportedly requested a priority landing from air traffic controllers at the busy airport and touched down 22 minutes early.

"A spokesman for British Airways said: 'Our passenger services staff went with her to hospital. We wish her well.'"

So, of course, do we. Full story here.
