Al Roker Does Howard Stern

The unofficial respectful distance between The Today Show and The Howard Stern Show was broken today, surprisingly, when Al Roker did the Sirius satellite program. It was probably inevitable as both Al Roker and Matt Lauer both fancy themselves guys guys and must -- like so many people in early morning and late night television -- listen to the show either live or hear it on rebroadcast throughout the day. Roker, who officially is a weatherman for NBC, is, like, a West Indian with his industriousness ("While I'm not the host of most of our programming, there's a lot of 'Al Roker' in everything we do"). When not calling the weather he has, like, a thousand shows that he produces and various money-making schemes ("Roker-Wear"?). Seriously. From Gather:

"Al Roker, "Today Show" host and weatherman was a great sport today on The Howard Stern Show. Al Roker spoke openly about his sex life, his salary and his controversial stomach stapling procedure.

"Al Roker, 'Today Show' host and weatherman, said he's not sure if he's a millionaire (yeah, right) and said he doesn't really know what being a millionaire means. (yeah, right again). Stern said he read that Al Roker makes a million and a half a year and that Matt Lauer makes more than $13 million a year. Roker would only say that he's paid "very fairly" by NBC.

"Al Roker then spoke about his weight. Roker had his stomach stapled several years ago and has since gained back more than 30 pounds. Despite the gain, Roker vowed that he'll never go back to his pre-surgery weight."
