Media-Whore D'Oeuvres

"Noah Baumbach is readying a Greenberg reunion of sorts: Our spies tell us that the writer-director is just now setting up his next project, While We’re Young, with Ben Stiller and James Franco already attached to star, and the project on offer to Greta Gerwig and to Cate Blanchett. Longtime Baumbach producer Scott Rudin (Greenberg, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Margot at the Wedding) will again produce. The script is being kept under tight security, but we’re told that it’s about a free-spirited Brooklynite twentysomething couple (Franco — and, possibly, Gerwig) who inspire an uptight documentarian (Stiller) and his wife (possibly Blanchett, pending the resolution of some scheduling issues) to loosen up — with comedic consequences." "Yesterday, the Federal Reserve released data on more than 21,000 loans and other deals it made through a dozen emergency programs created during the financial crisis. ProPublica's Karen Weise and Dan Nguyen looked at three of these programs and created an interactive news application analyzing the almost $15 trillion that the Fed loaned to financial institutions in hopes of boosting commercial lending and liquidity. To create this database, Dan and Karen had to organize and clean data from over 6,000 loans, which were often attributed to different sections and departments within financial institutions. The result is an interactive database that lets readers sort the more than 400 recipient institutions by name, program, and amount borrowed." (ProPublica)
